Advance Consulting History

Advance Consulting History

Advance Consulting was founded in 1990 with the goal of helping businesses improve the performance and productivity of their people. The company successfully grew to include a dedicated, experienced core staff and network of consultants, facilitators, project managers, and instructional designers.

In 1993, Advance Consulting introduced its flagship product, now called the Consultative Partnering™ Series, to address changes in the business environment that required a new way of working both internally and with clients. Since then, tens of thousands of people in the US and internationally have attended the workshop, which continues to receive worldwide acclaim. Advance Consulting added additional workshops to round out its training offerings and built a reputation for excellence and impact.

In 2005, Greg Baker, who had been a client of Advance Consulting from executive positions at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and McGraw-Hill, acquired the company and assumed day-to-day management as President and CEO. Mr. Baker’s vision was to expand the company, which was focused primarily on training and professional development, into a full service management consulting company serving the needs of clients undergoing major business transformation.

Over the five years that followed, this vision became a reality. The entire product line was renewed, and a host of consulting, training, and coaching offerings were developed to produce the elements needed to support major business transformations. The company’s operations were reworked and expanded to provide the efficiency, organization, and scalability needed to support significant growth in the business. Additional staff and consultants were added to bring a rich depth to the knowledge base, support business growth, and serve our clients with the kind of excellence and client focus Advance Consulting is known for.
